We are still doing orienteering in P.E. We have to do 8 courses of orienteering. I think we are on our 6th one now. Next week will finally be the last week of O.T!
When we first started O.T, I really liked it. I like navigating and reading maps and all that. But later on it just became more and more of a bore. I mean, I can read maps, and I can read a compass. Everyone else in our class can read a map and a compass. Even though we start at different times, we end up together. So during the last few classes, it really wasn't about getting your way right, it was about getting there before the others did. When we did our first courses of O.T, Tina and me could rarely see any others. But now, we always do. Because we all want to get back first, we all run. We jog the whole thing, we read our directions while we run ahead. And sometimes, because these are others with us, there is mass confusion. When one person gets the why wrong, or misunderstands the questions, everyone else is affected. Even though we do not share answers, we still debate on what is right and what is wrong. So what happens in the end is everyone wastes their time, and gets confused.

The Curious Case Of The Dog In The Night-time
The Curious Case Of The Dog In The Night-time (such a long name right?) is the book we are reading in English. When I first saw the book it was very mysterious and interesting. The book cover is a orange page with a black hole that is the shape of a dog. The dog is up side down. This means that the dog is dead. Hence the name of the book XD.
I first noticed the strange narration of the narrator. The narrator felt really emotionless. I didn't know why, but I had some guesses. These guesses included the boy had some conditions, or he was mentally ill or something. Later on we were told that Christopher (the boy/narrator), had autism.
I really didn't know what autism was. It just never came up. Autism really is a very interesting subject though. The autistic spectrum is very vast, and I think that it is very hard to pin-point autism and give it a definite definition.
Speaking of definition, I haven't been putting the words from the dictionary on my blog these days. Mostly because I haven't been writing them these days. But I am still reading my dictionary, do not worry!

Typing Blind
I am typing really blindly these days. I turned off all the lights in my room, and started typing like crazy... It really gets easier after you are familiar with the key board. Now I can type without looking, or almost. Sometimes I still get some letters wrong, but generally I can type without looking at the key board. I think it is a really good and important skill to have, because when you can type blind you wont be limited by the keyboard it self. And you can also achieve great speed and accuracy when you type blind. I could not type blind before, because when I was in china, I seldom used the computer. So now that I almost cant live without it, I try to improve my typing skills. Now, it is finally awesome! But I still do bad on typing tests though, because I am not that good. I still can't type random words that I don't know in my head...
Wolves Of The Beyond: Shadow Wolf
I went to the library yesterday to pick up my 4 books that I had on hold. I also bought myself some cookies and bread XD.
I have 3 other books from the Wolves Of The Beyond series.
The author kept using the word "marrow" in the book. And I don't know why, but the book just feels really short, and I was able to read through it very quickly. I don't think the story was as good as the Guardians of Ga'hoole. So far in the story there hasn't been enough suspense, and there was no greater issue involved, yet.
I am going to keep reading, and see if some super awesome quest comes up... I like quests, they are something that gives a character the chance to experience life and show their every angle. Even tough the main character is a wolf it is no different. But I must praise the author for capturing the life of a wolf pack so well, like the owls from the Ga'hoole, she was able to make all the animals so real and human-like(without making it seem weird). It is as if the wolves really are like that in real life.
Word Of The Day:
I've decided to do 2 words a day from now. One word is just too slow...
Ex. He was displaying some aberrant behaviour after the death of his sister, Mary.
I never meant to abet her with the crime, I have never wanted to be part of this.

Door to Door Singing!
On Wednesday the Synergy 9s went door to door singing during Applied Skills (first period). It was pretty successful and we got quite a few dollars of donation. We sang Here Comes The Sun, but I really like My Girl better. My voice range is pretty low, so I am a alto. For Here Comes The Sun, all the girls have to sing melody, and it is way high for me. I can sing it, but I don't feel comfortable, it is truly a little out of my range. But My Girl on the other hand is lower and it has more of a rhythm and feel to it that I can connect to. Here Comes The Sun repeats a little too much, and is a little boring. But My Girl has new lines, and a great ending.
I realized that I forgot the Word of the Day for these past days, so here they are:

New Beginnings
After the 2 weeks of spring break, I really feel much more nourished and rested. The first day back to school was the same as ever, I jumped back to my old schedule as if it had never changed. How ever, I did feel that term 3 was like a new beginning. In fact I felt this very strongly, even more than term2 (which kinda just snuck up on me when term 1 ended).
I am also really happy that spring is finally here, and summer awaits me. After all, summer was my favourite season!!!
I am sad to say, that Ms.Knott has not yet came back to teach our math class, and we have another sub.
Mr. Lee is still working with us in choir, so that's good.

Back To School
So, tomorrow is back to school time.
I can't say I'm not excited, which I am. I mean, staying at home is okay. But going to school kinda helps me maintain the same rhythm and tempo in life. I also get to see my friends, and learn new stuff. Experiencing life surrounded by people who are just as eager to learn as I am.
I can't say I am not disappointed, which I am too. Going back to school means stress and work and tests. No matter what I do, some part of me will always be lazy.
But nevertheless, I hope that the beginning of the last term of my grade 9 year, will be just as exciting and insightful as the two terms before it.
Word of the Day:
Ex: After pigs are killed in the abattoir, their meat is processed, packaged, and sent to markets to be sold.
This word reminded me of the movie Food Inc.

THE HUNGER GAMES (MOVIE)
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG.
That was my reaction when I finally found someone to watch the Hunger Games with me. I originally thought it was coming out on the 24th of March, but it came out on the 23rd XD.
I sent people emails asking them if they had time during this weekend so we can go watch it together, but pretty much everyone was pretty busy. So by the end of Friday, nothing was planned. But I got a text from Jessie on Sat, and she said she wants to go watch it together. So we go the tickets online and went to watch the 3:20 one that day.
I got there and I got us pop, Jessie said she was going to be late because the person giving her a ride was late. It turned out Jessie didn't get there until the movie started a little. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE WATCHING THE HUNGER GAMES! I got there 20 minutes early and the whole place was already almost full. I got us seats towards the front, good that there was only the 2 of us, or else we would have had to sit in the really front of the theatre.
The movie was great! I really enjoyed the book(at least the first one), so it was a real treat to see it all play out before your eyes. I had fun identifying the places they stuff and scenes they had cut out from the book. It was fun. The crowd was really enthusiastic, and absorbed in the movie. Sometimes the whole theatre would laugh at some parts of the movie.
I hope they make the second book of The Hunger Games (Catching Fire) into a movie too ^^.

Gallagher Girl: Out of Sight Out of Time
Yesterday I finished reading Out of Sight Out of Time. I had just read a few chapters and I realized that I was missing some story from the last book. It was really strange because I knew I read the 4th book of the series, but it just seemed like I was missing something. So I found the 4th book online, and found out that I completely missed the whole ending of the 4th book... Now how did that happen??? Strange part was I knew I read the beginning and the middle of the book, just not the ending parts (which were the most important parts). So I read through the 4th book quickly, and went back reading the 5th. Everything made much more sense XD.
a·bate/əˈbāt/
I half know this word, but I think I should re-remember it because half knowing a word doesn't really help when it comes to writing.
(5th book of the Gallagher Girls series)
I love the covers of the books, they always look so cool. The book really surprised me. I out of all the 5 books that came out, the 5th book was involved in the most suspense+guessing+investigating+ psychology.
When Cammie went back to school with her memory loss, it was really strange. She seemed so different, and it was eerie, because it felt so real. It really felt like Cammie had gone mental on some levels. I noticed the fact that she sleep walked, lost track of time, and had this weird connection with the song. At first I just thought Cammie was humming the song without her even noticing it, but then I knew it was like some trigger, or hypnotizing thing. Now that I think about it, it made sense that in the other Cammie would attack Dr.Steve. I should have noticed that Cammie only lost time when she was with him. I loved how the story led us back to that stained glass window in the first book, and even with a memory loss, Cammie was still super smart and super sharp. If you think about it, Cammie really did very well when she escaped. Everything was really well thought of and planned (except for the part of getting captured by the evil Circle and being tortured, but I don't think anyone would plan something like that...) I love how strong Cammie is!
This book is an awesome series to read for girls!!! Cuz the girls in the book are totally cooler+smarter+awesomer, than the boys!

No More Baby Teeth!!!
This morning I went to the dentist and got the last 2 of my baby tooth taken out. Unbelievable right? I can't believe I am fourteen and they still haven't fallen off yet! I had to take them out soon, because I am probably getting braces during the start of summer. I finally have NO more baby teeth!!!
One side of my mouth is like completely numb right now, I am starting to get hungry. I hope I can eat soon... The doctor said I have to wait for another 3 hours or something. At least it stopped bleeding.
So, the Word of The Day is:
Example sentence: ...the crowds in the square, abasing themselves in front of the gleaming glass statue.
I am still not very clear on how to use this word. Do you abase someone? Like: I was abasing myself before the great king?

Word of the Day
I have decided that my English vocabulary is really small (smaller than average people of 14 years old, I think), so I am going to start the Word of The Day thing.
Basically I found a huge English dictionary and I will be starting from As and work my way to the Zs, until I go through every single word. I get to skip the ones I know, and have to remember the ones I don't (even if I think I know the word, I still have to re-memorize it).
The Word of The Day today is:
I had a friend who went to lessons to learn how to use an abacus. The abacus was commonly used by merchants, inventors, and other people who need to do math during the Chinese dynasties.

Pure
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG
I just finished reading Pure, by Jennifer Armentrout.
First I would like to thank Lillian, because without her I would have never been able to find the online version of this book!!! Thanks a million!!!
Second I would like to thank the person who posted this online!!!
Third I would like to thank the company that decided to release the ebook version of the book early along with the ordered books!!!
I do like Seth better, even thought the whole connection between him and Alex is a little weird, and I have often doubted whether his feeling were the connection or just him. But I kinda like his character, he is more wild and fun than Aidan. Aidan can be too serious at times... Well, I hope they don't get killed by gods, and I totally can NOT wait for Alex to turn 18. It is going to be a full blown war! And I hope the new Oracle is as cool as the old one who died, because I love oracles and prophecies. They always hit you when you least expect them to, the beauty of riddles and words that mean more than they appear to ^^.

(LOVE the cover. Second book of the Covenant series)
I think that I like Seth better than Aidan. I mean, I think Aidan is great and all, but I was pretty disappointed in him for not saying "I love you" back to Alex. I thought he was pretty cowardly, I mean he could have said it, and told her the truth about how he felt about her, and she wouldn't have to feel so torn up about him. But no, he decided to lie to her and tell her that he doesn't care that much for her, and say that he can't tell her the three simple words. Meanwhile, he always says strange stuff that inclines that he totally is still in love with her, and do totally intense staring and stuff. But still, he just won't say the three words. He also got kinda weary about her getting closer to Seth, but I guess that is understandable. He would/could save everyone so much trouble if he just said it, but no. I kinda of get where her is coming from, because he knew Alex, and if he told her he loved her then she would never let go of him and that would most likely end up getting both of them killed...I do like Seth better, even thought the whole connection between him and Alex is a little weird, and I have often doubted whether his feeling were the connection or just him. The Book Theif
OFFICIALLY MY FAVOURITE BOOK!!! (OF THE WEEK? MONTH? YEAR? Not so sure...)
This book captured my full attention from the very first page. It said:
This is the book that made me cry for at least the whole last chapter. Plus the number of times I couldn't help but tear up because of the story. I haven't cried that much since forever. And I rarely cry over books, usually I stay pretty calm, and detached in some ways. But this book totally made my cry so so much! I still can't believe the book ended how it ended. It is so unbelievably sad. And BEAUTIFUL. It was a beautiful, and I feel frustrated that sometimes I cannot understand full meanings behind the author's words. I want to understand, but I guess this is one of those books that you read over after a few years and go "Ohhhh! I get it now!" I think I want to buy it, because I want to be able to go "Ohhh! I finally get everything!" when I grow up.
This book captured my full attention from the very first page. It said:
First the colors.
Then the humans.
That's usually how I see things.
Or at least, how I try.*** HERE IS A SMALL FACT***
The book is written in the point of view of death. Awesome much? It is the story of a young German girl who has a hove for words, and hence the book stealing. The book was simply alluring. The unique writing style of the author made you feel the emotions the characters were feeling, but still allowed to stay detached, because it was in the view of Death. Writing the book is the point of view of Death kinda made me feel really ironic. But is was a brilliant touch to the story. The book jumps back and forth through the story, and through different people. At times it can be a little confusing, and at others it screamed SPOILER!!!You are going to die.

Wolves of The Beyond: Lone Wolf
Michelle lend it to me. If there was ever a faithful follower of the Guardians of Ga'hoole, it would be Michelle. I love the series too, it was my favourite series in grade 3. The whole series was about owls, kind of like Silverwings. The book was even made into a movie The Guardians of Ga'hoole. I read the book a long time ago, so a barely remembered half the things that went on in the book. But I do still remember it was AWESOME.
Wolves of The Beyond is a series that happens after the stories of the Guardians of Ga'hoole in the same world. The book was better than I expected to be honest. It was also very short compared to other books I read these days, so when I was done I had to find the sequels online. However it was not that easy. It seems that books from Scholastic rarely ended up online for free, or the book was not popular or well known enough for others to post it online. The only version of the while book I could find online was on Google Books, and still I couldn't read the whole thing because after a few pages of test trails they wouldn't show you more until you paid or something.
I really want to read the sequel, but finding it online proved to be impossible, so I think I will try to get a hold on it through VPL. When I read this book, I come across all these familiar words and things from the Gaurdians of Ga'hoole. But the sad thing is, I can never really remember clearly. It sucks to have that kind of feeling, to know you know something more, but just can't remember what. I was tempted to re-read the Guardians of Ga'hoole. But that would be a waste of time.

Library/waiting/bursting with excitement
Today I went to the library to get the books I had on hold. For some time I was kinda afraid of going to the library. My auntie had informed me that they found lice in some of the books in a few library and they were doing a investigation. It had nothing to do with me for that matter, because the library at Champlain Square was perfectly fine. So I got my book on hold, which was the Book Thief. I really wanted to read it because Carina and Narae recommended it. I could have gotten the book sooner, but for one week I forgot to pick it up, and the book was sent away again. Now I have to pay $2 as a fine. Anyways, I roamed the library, and realized there really wasn't much new good books these days. I was waiting for a few to come out:
1. Pure - Jennifer L. Armentrout ( Technically it has already come out because Amazon and a few other companies send out ordered copies of the book before it was even out in stores yet. The book is out one month early for those who ordered it online... Lucky people!!!)
2. Black Heart - Holly Black ( It is coming out on the same day Pure was supposed to come out, which is April 3rd.)
3. City of Lost Souls - Cassandra Clare ( Can't wait!!!)
Plus! The Hunger Games movie is finally coming out on the 24th!!! Must watch it!
Harrison Hot Springs 2
So we stayed the night at Harrison, we all went to bed at around 2, and we woke up at 9:40 in the morning. Surprisingly I wasn't that sleepy, or tired. I think almost 8 hours is usually how much I sleep on school nights. We were a little reluctant of getting out of bed, but we finally all got up. Michelle's mom brought back muffins and fruits. I wonder where she found them. The muffins were really good, there was blueberry and chocolate. They were also really huge, which left me pretty full, not to mention the fruits. Then we packed out stuff, checked under our pillows, and checked out. Before we head back, we walked around the shops to find a souvenir for the trip. Michelle, Carmen, Narae, and me all got matching rings that were of different colours. Michelle got a red one, Carmen the yellow, Narae the blue, and me the purple. They were like our signature colours. Michelle's mom also got us these charms that were like a bell and ringed when you shake it. Me and Carmen got the ones shaped like a ducky, Michelle got the monkey, and Narae go the panda bear. We also walked along the beach and took awesome pictures. One of them is Carmen holding up a mountain XD. We attempted to bounce rocks, but we all failed except for Carmen. Skipping rocks is harder than it looks. OH! I forgot, when we first got to Harrison, Carmen told us this awesome joke. In the car she was like "I see water." And soon Michelle started laughing, and Narae was like "Oh!" I didn't get it. I was thinking, what was so funny about Carmen saying "Icy water", because I knew the water must be really cold. Then I got it!!!! ^^ "I see water"="Icy water" And they were both true at the time. LOLs it was so funny!!!
The ride back felt really short. We took turns playing Cows VS. Aliens. The game was a little addicting. When we got back to Vancouver, we went to this Indian restaurant to eat doshas. It was this Indian wrap with curry and other stuff in it. It looks HUGE, but really the contents are all in the middle, so there really isn't that much food. Michelle and her family often went to the dosha place, and apparently it was Monday, so everything was a very low price. Because we all thought the the dosha would be extremely big, we shared between 2. As it turned out, as I said, it wasn't that huge and filling. So me and Michelle ended up getting another one. Even though I ate the equivalent of one, I was still a little hungry. I was really surprised because I thought I would be less hungry because of the huge muffin... When we finished lunch it was time to send us all back home. Carmen went first, we all walked her to her door. We said our heart-filled good-byes, and promised to talk again on MSN. Then it was me... I know I will never forget this trip, because there will be no other quite like it again. Until maybe next year XD.

Harrison Hot Springs
On Sunday Michelle's mom took Michelle, Narae, and Carmen to Harrison Hot Springs for Michelle's 15th birthday!!!
The ride was pretty short, considering we were all talking and laughing the whole ride. When we got to Harrison, we first found a place to eat. We had sushi and teriyaki for lunch. Then we walked to the hotel and checked in. The room we got was totally cool. It was one of those rooms that is actually 2 rooms connected into 1. In the first side of the room there are 2 beds, a TV, a bathroom, and other stuff. The 4 of us would be staying in that room. The other side has a couch (sofa), a TV, a bathroom, and other stuff. Michelle's mom was staying in that one. After we got settled in, we went to explore some of the hotel. We first went to the Cornet room, it was a room full of board games, and also a wii. I LOVE board games, so we started playing this game called HeadBadz or something like that. Basically each of us had a band around our heads, and we put a card that has a picture of something on it. We can't see it ourselves, but every other player can. Basically each or us go in turn to ask 1 question to try to guess what the picture we have is. The question is a yes/no format, and the other players have to answer you. The pictures we get are all nouns, and it could be an animal, a type of food, something you use, or wear. During the first round of the game, it took us a long time to get what we were, because we didn't know how to ask the right questions. Eventually we got better. It was such a fun game!
After playing games in the Cornet room, we decided to hit the Hot Springs. So we changed into our swim suits and got into the water. The hot springs was pretty okay, I am not really a water person. There was a lot of people there, but it was pretty cool. There wasn't much space to swim unless you go to swimming pool, but then the swimming pool is colder, so we mostly stay in the hot springs part. After more than an hour of soaking in water, we went back in and took turns taking shower. When we were all done, we made sure our hair was dry and all that, because the restaurant we were going to didn't allow sneakers or ripped or torn clothing. The Restaurant was in the Copper Room, and I think it is called the Copper Room too. So, there is this stage in the back, and a dance floor in the middle, with tables all around it. It was soooooooooooo cool!!! I have never been somewhere like that. Plus, there was a live band performing, and there were actual people dancing. It was EPICALLY AWESOME! Not to mention the food! The food was totally delicious! We had a very delicious meal, and after that we got these cool drinks that was pina colata in the bottom and strawberry mix on the top. We also ordered like 4 desserts, and they were all sooooo good. There was creme brule (my first time eating it!!!), cheese cake, mocca mouse with chocolate, and other stuff that I can't name. By the end of the meal, we were so very very full. Oh, and one of the best parts of the meal was that we got to dance on the dance floor together. It was a little awkward, but really fun.
After dinner we went back to our room. Because Michelle's mom was so generous for taking us on this trip, Carmen, Narae, and me decided to thank her by getting her chocolates and making her this super large card. So we brought them along on the trip, and when Michelle's mom went to the hot springs by herself, the 4 of us took our the colour markers and started writing our thanks on the card. Let me tell you, it was a SUPER DUPER card, and it was HUGE. Like one piece of poster board paper folded in half huge (which is exactly what it was, of course it was decorated though!). When we were done, we waited for Michelle's mom to come back so we could surprise her. Meanwhile, we found this new game that was super fun on my Ipad. It is this game called Cows VS. Aliens, and it can be played by multiple players. We got really carried away with the game because it was so fun. That night we only stayed up till 2 o'clock because we had to get up early the next day to check out. But during that time, we did watch a few episodes of my little pony and Michelle opened her presents. I think I kinda messed up the order of the night a little, but it doesn't really matter. ^^

My Little Pony
I can't believe I haven't written about this yet. I was making a birthday card for a my little pony fan, and I drew my favourite pony Rainbow Dash, and another pony Flutter Shy. I have only watched one episode of My Little Pony, but I already know that I <3 Rainbow Dash. My second favourite is Rarity, that pony has got a lot of talent! But I don't really like Pinky Pie, no matter how much some of my friends like her. I find her really annoying, and way too hyper, even for me. And Apple Jack isn't high on my list either, all she talks about sometimes (or most of the time), is apples, selling apples, and making money from selling apples. Flutter Shy is okay, but as her name suggests, she is pretty shy. Twilight Sparkles is a total smarty-pants. She is the one I bought for my friend. I went out shopping in Metrotown last week when the teachers were on Strike and got her this fold-able cushion that is purple and has a unicorn horn. So therefore, it is Twilight Sparkles.
When I was making the card, I went on the My Little Pony site and watch clips of every pony. They ponies are really really cute. Whoever designed and drew them is aawesome. But what I don't get is, I thought My Little Pony has been out for a long time, how come they had just become so popular now? Lots of people used to make fun of My Little Pony all the time when I was in elementary. Oh how times change...

David Copperfield
I have been reading David Copperfied by Charles Dickens. It is my mom's favourite book, so when she made me read classics, I decided to start with this one.
The book is very good in the beginning. I absolutely HATE the Murdstones. Not only because Mr.Murdstone treats David as if he were an ungrateful animal, but also because he just strides into the Copperfields' life and take control of it as if it were his to command. He completely ruin David's mother, or Mrs.Copperfield/Murdstone's happiness. I got really angry at them because they tried to make the poor mother think and act like how they want her to. And because David's mother was a little weak, she became the puppet of Mr.Murdstone and his sister. If it were only the child abuse of an evil step father, I would be less emotional. But Mr.Murdstone thought of David, and David's mother as something that he can toy with and command at his will. The poor woman doesn't even have any say in her own house! And the poor boy was helpless, and called a bad devilish boy by his own mother because his mother had no choice but to believe, follow, and do whatever those evil Murdstones told her. I LOATHE the Murstones!

Stupid Weather
The weather these days totally suck. I was hoping it would be sunnier, or a little warmer since it is already the middle of March. But, no! It has to be all gloomy, cloudy, and sometimes-rain-sometimes-hail-sometimes-even-add-some-snow! The weather can alter people's moods. The gloomy weather gives me a bad mood. When I see clear skies, I feel better, and brighter. But if the sky is all gloomy, then I don't really feel like much of anything.
Tomorrow me and some friends are going to Harrison Hot Springs, and I really hope the weather is okay. Which means it doesn't rain, hail, snow, or appear to be extremely windy. Windy weather is no good either. It not only makes it much colder outside, it also prevents me from sleeping a good nights' sleep. My window has some serious cracks on the sides, and the wind always makes loud wooshing noises. Not to mention my screen window always fall off every time it gets windy. Sometimes when the wind is really bad, I also hear stuff slamming onto my window. At first I thought it might be tree branches or something, but then after re-thinking it. I think that it was probably just a great gust of wind, this is why I cannot sleep on windy days!!!

I Got Accepted For Pre-IB!
I have totally forgotten about it. Ever since I got my acceptance letter last Friday, I have mostly forgotten about the whole thing.
On Friday we were all crammed on second floor, outside of the lab. I got there fairly early because I went straight there from the Textiles room. Everyone was so excited, and we all huddled together and waited for the teachers to finish placing our letters. When I finally got inside the lab, I went and found my letter. I was really excited, but not necessarily nervous. I had a good feeling that day, and I'd like to trust my instincts and not beat my self into hysteria over the whole thing. My mom told me the other day that it was okay if I didn't get in as long as I try my best in everything. I have such awesome parents ^^.
The rest of lunch was a blur. I opened my envelope(I had to tear it open, and it ended up in the garbage), and found out I got in! I didn't even have the patience to read the whole letter, I was with Carina and Leslie then and they had both opened their letters already. After that we went around finding other people and asking if they got in. It was an exciting day!
I completely forgot about the whole thing until just now my grandparents and my second auntie from Wuhan China phoned me to congratulate me. I realized I never blogged about this, and I knew I had to make it up. Getting into Pre-IB is something I want recorded in the history of my blog for the sake that one day I may come back and reread everything.

Glasses
Yes, this has been a busy few days. On Saturday, I went to Metrotown and got my eye sight checked. Apparently my right eye was 125, and my left eye was 225. I always knew my left eye was worse than my right eye, but the news really shocked my auntie quite a bit. So that was the day I, Celinna, officially got my first pair of glasses. I chose this beige pair that looked very cute.
My eye sight had been getting worse ever since I went back to China, high school was not helping the case. I always knew the having 4 eyes thing was inevitable. I haven't been able to see well in classes lately because I either sit too far from the projectors or the words are too small. It is good I am finally getting my glasses, I think my eye sight would just get worse if I continue to squint in class.
The first time I wore my glasses was yesterday. Because of the big leap between my 2 eyes, the eye doctor had to lower my proscription. I couldn't even walk straight with the full one because my eyes weren't used to it. Even with the lowered prescription of 150 and 125, it was still a very dizzying experience. I had to walk for about half an hour in the mall to get used to it. Still, I always get annoyed when I spot the rim of the glasses in my vision, I can't help but look at them, and I can't help but feel really weird and uncomfortable. But thank goodness I only have to wear it when I need them. After all being near sighted doesn't prevent you from reading, or watching TV, or doing normal stuff. I will only need to take notes in school, I just hope that with these glasses, my eye sight doesn't get even worse.

This Lullaby
This is the second Sarah Dessen book I read today:
I didn't cry for this book, but I was extremely frustrated at the main character Remy. After reading the book, I don't really understand the meaning of the story. I grasp a very vague concept of what the author is trying to tell the readers, but I keep feeling like I was missing something. Like there was something of the story that I wasn't interpreting right... I don't really relate that well to the personality of Remy, but I admire her for having 3 good girl friends who will always be there for her. I got really annoyed at her, because her problem seemed quite simple to me. If she had just agreed to follow and trust her heart a little, than she would have saved herself a lot of problems and drama.
Just Listen
I just burned through 2 of Sarah Dessen's book is a couple of hours. Best few hours of the whole week!
I first read Just Listen, and I honestly felt like I had a lot in common with the main character Annabel. My personality was a lot like hers in some ways, but with better socials skills and more optimistic. Maybe that is the reason why I totally cried in the end when she finally told others what had happened. She had been through a lot, and instead of telling anyone, she just swallowed everything. She swallowed every painful, miserable, bad, and uncertain thing in her life. Her life was full of white lies that she spun for the sake of others. It was so sad...
I haven't cried when reading a book ever since my last Sarah Dessen book Lock and Key. Her books really make me cry, probably because they are always so realistic. I love the way she approaches subjects of great depths and understanding from very simple and small parts of life. It make everything easier to understand, relate to, and reminded of.

Inheritance
Inheritance is the 4th and last book of the Eragon series. The ending of the whole series was as expected, the evil Rider was destroyed, and Nasuada became the queen of the land. However, the process in which everything happened is another story entirly.
First Eragon finds out his true name, which is very interesting. And then he finds this whole cave of dragon eggs and dragon hearts (not real hearts, it was like a stone that the dragons could transfer their conscience into, so the dragon can be "alive" even after it's body died.) With the dragon hearts that they found, and the advices of all the elderly dragons, Eragon and Saphira finally had a chance to defeat the evil king. In the end, they stormed the castle of the evil king, but he was too strong for them so they could not even touch him. But when Murtagh, the half-brother of Eragon was able to defy the king's orders (because his true name changed), he was able to strip the king of his protection. And in a deadly duel of the mind, Eragon cast a spell without using words that made the king feel the guilt of every person he killed. And the king went crazy, and they killed him and his dragon. THE END.
I was really hoping in the end Arya and Eragon could be together, but I guess Eragon going off to somewhere far far away to raise the new generation of dragons was really good too. I was really happy to know that Arya became a rider herself. It was a happy ending.

WonderStruck
WonderStruck is by the same author of Hugo Cabret. Hugo Cabret was a book that was half pictures and half words. It was a really good book, and I LOVED the author's drawings. The author draws really beautiful eyes that can portray deep emotions.
Hugo Cabret was made into a movie, and it won a lot of Oscars this year...
WonderStruck is really good too, but it was a little confusing in the beginning. I marvel at how he can draw so well, unless the author photo-shopped the pictures somehow, I am sure the pictures look like they were draw on the spot with no rouge sketches in the background. I think the book shows us a whole new way of telling a story. There are books (full of words), and there are comics. But there was never a book with some pages full of drawings and others full of words. The book is like a photo album with some short stories in it. It is easy to read, and leaves lots of space for the reader to imagine stuff.
Some of my favourite drawings from the books:

Brisingr
Brisingr is the third book of the Inheritance series. I just finished, and I can't wait to read the fourth book Inheritance. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in the school library, so I might have to read it online...
The word "brisingr" means "fire" in the ancient language in the book. Reasons why I love this word:
1. Because Eragon named his super-awesome-master-smith-elf-made-best-sword-in-the-whole-kingdom-of-Alagaesia "Brisingr"
2. Because this super-awesome-master-smith-elf-made-best-sword-in-the-whole-kingdom-of-Alagaesia can burst into flames, when Eragon says "Brisingr"
3. Because I LOVE the swords of heros!
Every hero in a book that does fighting has their own special sword. Whether it was past down from generation to generation, or found as a hidden treasure, their swords always has a name.
The name of the sword is very important. Some swords' name define what the sword may bring, other swords are name after some significant event or thing that the sword and hero accomplished. Brisingr was a sword made under very special circumstances. The sword maker that specially makes swords for dragon riders made an unbreakable oath to never forge another sword. But Eragon was in great need of a sword that was worthy of him, and Eragon is a special case, so the sword maker elf decided to make him one. Because she could not make it herself, she would control Eragon to make the sword. So it was almost like Eragon making the sword, but not him at the same time. This might be one of the reasons that the sword can burst into flames when Eragon says its name.
I am a big sword fan. Sword are my favourite weapon. Although bows and arrows are nice, but they are useless in close combat. Some of my favourite swords are Tidal Wave (Percy Jackson's ball point pen), Grayswandir (Corwin's sword from the Great Book of Amber, this sword also has a twin!), Zar'roc (which translates to "misery", from Eragon). Now I think I am going to add Brisingr into the list too!

Eldest
Eldest is the second book of the Inheritance series (Eragon). The ending really surprised me. And also, after reading this book, I have decided that the movie Eragon sucks. The books are so much better than the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christopher Paolini (the author), is really awesome. I found out that in graduated high school when he was 15, because he was home schooled. The first book was published when he was 19, and he has been a New York best selling author since.
I hope I can publish my own book before I am 20... My dad says he can find someone to publish it for me if I ever get it done. Now likely at the moment, but I am working on it...

J.O.
At around 5:30, my auntie and I set out to John Oliver Secondary to attend my choir performance. It was the elementary school choir festival, and they invited many high school choirs to go perform for them. Apparently the festival has been going on for 3 days already, and everyday there was anther different high school choir performing.
At first I thought I have never been to J.O. before, but when I saw the cafeteria, I knew I had been there before. I was in the school choir when I was in elementary school, and I was AB positive that I attended the festival in one year. I was held at John Oliver too, and I also remembered we got cookies (or some sort of snack) in the end. So when I say that room full of elementary students, I looked for my elementary school, which was Champlain Heights Elementary. They weren't there, I guess they came on a different day.
There was a lot of confusion at first, I think Ms.Dionne was a little late, and we all didn't know where to go. The room they gave us was in the corner place that no one could see. There weren't a lot of volunteers, and a bunch of from Churchill was just wandering the halls. You can tell we were from Churchill because we are the only people in all black.
Our performance was okay, I think we were a little nervous, and I also think we messed up the ending of Lucky. I guess its okay because no one will ever know...
It was really fun, the elementary kids were really excited, they were all clapping like crazy. They all look so small, I was that short and small when I was in elementary. Funny thing was, I have never thought of myself as small when I was in elementary, but now that I think of it, I must of been. I mean time passes too quickly, you grow so soundlessly without any warning.
I used to love the idea of growing up, but I think I want a little break right now.
