Today we first went to this mall beside our hotel in Portland, I got a locket there. I really like stuff that looks old, and I have always wanted a locket.
The main event of the day for me was going to the second largest book store in the North America. It reminded me of Barron's Books and Baubles from this book I read. It was huge and had many sections. The whole book store was on both sides of the street and contained countless new and used books. It was divided in colors. For example the teen adn kids section was the Pink Room, while the science fiction section was the Gold Room. The main entrance and cashier was the Green Room. There is also the Red Room, the White Room, the Orange Room, and many more other rooms. The main book part of the book store had many levels, but I only explored the first 2. I mostly wandered around the teens section, seeing the books I have read and also looking for the Fever Series. I could not find that book series in the library, however I already read it online so I don't need to buy it. I was simply curious of how the real book looked like. It is quite different to read a real book and to read it online. I myself prefer reading real books, but sometimes reading online (especially if you have an ipad) is much more simple.
I also went to the science fiction section where I found many more copies of The Great Book of Amber. I found it strangely comforting to see that the book was one of the books that was recommended to read. After the excitement of being around so many familiar and unfamiliar books died down I started getting a minor headache. Have you ever had the feeling when you are surrounded by something (books in my case) and it was so intimidating and endless because there was just so many of them? Just seeing so many books was socking and amazing at the same time. My dream is to have my own personal library, but it could never be as big as this book store. So many books I have never read, I feel sad because I know I will never be able to read all of them...
We had dinner at the buffet in the Hilton hotel. If you ever go there, I suggest you not to eat the buffet at the restaurant. They really didn't have much to offer. I think it would have been better to order stuff instead of eating the buffet. After that we went to Macy to shop again. I couldn't believe it when the whole place closed at 8:00. So early!
