Hoodie

I can't believe it!!! I never posted the pictures of my hoodie. Or maybe I did? And now I can't find them?
Well, since I am posting pictures of everything I have made so far I might as well just it again, just in case.

I can't seem to flip the pictures around.
Note to self: Next time you make hoodies either find a lighter fabric to a make a double layered hood, or just make it single layered! My hood is too heavy and drapes. Also, make ribbing at the bottom looser.
Apparently "hoodie" is not a word. I guess I should be calling this a sweatshirt then (I think). I am horrible at naming clothes...

I finished this on: March 2012

Apron 2

This is the apron I made for my mom. I promised to make her one for her Birthday this year, but I never got to actually do it until last week.
This is the second apron I have EVER made, and it only took me 3 days.
Since it is so easy to make aprons, I am seriously considering starting an apron selling business or something ^^.

My mom's favourtie color is blue, so I got her the matching fabrics.
To be honest I really wanted to make her an apron that made more gatherings, or decorations. But my mom just liked her aprons plain, and since she is who wears it, I kept is simple. However, I couldn't resist the urge to put some color on it, hence the message. Of course I mean the message with all my heart <3.

I finished on: August. 7. 2012

Apron

I made this apron for my friend Yunyi. She is taking foods next year so she needed an apron.
I have decided to post all of the stuff I make on my blog just to keep track.

It is too bad I took these photos on my Ipad, so they are not very clear. My camera is not working properly these days.
I made the heart as a pocket, but decided that it doesn't look good.
The 3 layer type of apron is surprisingly easy to make, and I also had the help of a pattern.

I finished this apron on: August. 2. 2012

The False Prince

The False Prince

By Jennifer A. Neilson

  OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!~
When I say this book is heart-stopping, I mean it literally!!!
After reading The Lies of Locke Lamora, I have developed a liking for defiant pick-pocket orphans with sharp tongues and super-uber clever minds. Sage is all of the above, and it is impossible not to like him and admire his intelligence.
Sage is presented as a very straightforward character, yet he has so many mysteries and hidden secrets. I really admire the author for being able to conceal his true identity so well in the book. I am ashamed to say that I did not expect who he was at all. I am trying to keep this post spoiler free, but it is pretty hard... I had A LOT of difficulty breathing when I found out who he really was. I was completely in shock and once I found out everything just fell into place. And it felt so right. The layers and layers of lies are all so intrictly weaved together it successfully masked the truth.
I was extremely excited when I saw that The False Prince is part of a Trilogy, which means we will get more of Sage(aka *****). I hope the second book is as great as the first one!
Oh! And I think the cover is nice, the broken crown and the blue background just reminds me of Sage and his story and background. I guess before you read this book you shouldn't go look for spoilers or anything, it is best if you just read it, and read it NOW. Only then will you feel the full impact of the story! I couldn't put it down! It is such a great book, definitely worth reading!!!

1. He is the best friends EVER

3. He is gorgeous XD
4.  He is brave and courageous
5. He has the most super-awesome-totally-bad-ass-beautifully-tragic-yet-heroic sword that turns into a ball-point pen made out of Celestial Bronze named RIPTIDE.
6. He is the Son of Poseidon!!!!!!! Who doesn't love the sea?
7. He has a nice sense of humor
8. He is deadly (especially with Riptide)
9. He is a demi-god, need I say more?
10. He has so many great adventures!!! And his boos Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a all time YA classic that you have to read!

I hope Percy Wins!!!

GO PERCY!!!

I dedicate this post to the awesome son of Poseidon: Percy.
I have just joined Team Percy for the YA 2nd Crush Tourney. I can't wait till the voting starts! I have so much to say I don't know where to start!
I was surprised when I saw the list of competitors in the Crush Tourney. I would have thought more people would have voted for Percy! It is too bad that Jace is not in the competition this year (I have a feeling he might win it again ^^). But at least Will is in the tourney. To be honest Will, Jace and a bunch of other guys in the tourney are all really swoon worthy. But the reason why I am Team Percy is because I think that Percy is not ONLY swoon worthy, super awesome and bad-ass, he is also a great friend. There was something that really got stuck in my head from The Son of Neptune. Percy was described as "glue", and I think it is a super super accurate description of Percy. I think my heart just melts when I see him with Annabeth. I only regret that Rick Riordon teared them apart so soon.
I am totally waiting for The Mark of Athena. I totally went crazy when the cover was released. I read the comments and the 1st chapter, and I think I squealed. I sincerely hope that it is not Percy and Jason fighting on the cover. As much as I dislike Jason, I don't think it is a good time for the son of the sky and the son of the seas to suddenly go against each other. I almost died when The Son of Neptune ended with that cliff hanger!!!!!! Why does time pass so slow!!!!!!
While waiting for Percy to return, and the enthralling story of the Heroes of Olympus to continue, I shall spend my time rooting for Percy and hoping he wins the YA Crush Tourney!!! If only we had these Crush Tourneys more often...
  Go Percy!!!!

Finals Free

Today I didn't have any finals which is a relief. However, tomorrow I do have my last final---Socials. Honestly I don't like how we are getting our finals now, I hoped it was like last year where we all went and took our finals in the gym on different days. The finals we are having now doesn't really seem like finals, they just seem like some big test that is worth a lot of marks...
Well, I still have my cold so I guess I won't be staying too late to study. I sort of hoped to have all my finals done in a few days, but since we keep missing socials class I guess it was impossible.

Fever

I have this really bad fever right now. My whole body is really hot and I feel light headed. But I can't sleep yet...
I am reading a book, reading books makes me feel better. I took some medicine but it doesn't seem to be helping much yet.
I have been having sore throats for a few days, but the fever we brought on but my PE class this morning (I believe). We were playing soccer outside in the rain, and my shoes and socks got soaking wet. My hair was also wet, and I had to go a whole day without any socks. It was miserable, plus the fact hat I wasn't feeling well in the first place, I got a fever.
Going to drink lots of water.

English Finals!!!

  YAYAYAYAY!!!!
I don't know why I am so happy, but I had my English Finals today. Maybe it is because I can feel this huge burden being lifted from my shoulders. One down, four to go!
I thought our English finals was fairly easy. However, there were some stuff that purely depends on your understands of stuff. I hope I did okay... I hope I get an A in English this terms...
Well, it's over and done with. Now it's time to celebrate!!! I am officially doing nothing today, to celebrate doing nothing. Well, I did read a book, but that isn't studying so it doesn't count!
  YAY!

I Have 323 Viruses

I just got my computer checked for viruses with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. It took almost a whole night to go through my whole computer but when the resulted came out this morning, I was sure surprised!!!
I have 323 viruses in my computer!!! Most of them are Trojan so that is pretty bad. I think it is a miracle that my computer is still working. My cousin's computer has 26 viruses and it is already not functioning properly.
In case you are wondering, I have softwares that I downloaded to check for viruses. Unfortunately for me the Chinese software I use is a completely useless. One day my computer was extremely slow, like I could not do anything without it getting stuck. I suspected that I had so bad viruses so I used the Chinese software to scan my computer, the resulted were really bad. But the problem was my computer was so stuck to the point that I couldn't clean the viruses up. It was permanently frozen and I couldn't get it to move at all. Out of sheer frustration I turned my computer off and restarted it. This time my computer was functioning more normally so I checked for viruses again and the Chinese software came up with none when just minutes ago it told me that my computer we was crawling wrong viruses...
Now I am trying to get rid of the viruses but some of them are tiring up a fight and it had been stuck on one virus for a while now. I hope I will be able to kill all of them. I have to rescan my computer because I am sure there are more that escaped the scan this time.
I must have broken a world record or something, having 323 viruses in a computer. I also have to say that I am impressed at Sony, because if it were another computer it would have crashed already!

Frappe Week

This week starting from Monday is the Starbucks Frappuccino week. I am not sure if I spelled "frappuccino" right...
Any ways, so this week from 3 to 5 all frappes are half price!! normally they would be around $4, and now they are only $2 from 3 to 5!!! YAY!!!
I love frappe! They are one of the few things I drink from Starbucks since I don't like coffee.
Her are some frappe pictures, they look so delicious!
So the story is: Yunyi, Vivian and me met at Metrotown today and got awesome frappes for half price. Well, only Yunyi and me got frappes, and Vivian didn't because when she got there it was already past 5 so it wasn't half price any more. But Vivian did get a apple caramel cider which is just as delicious as its name is! YAY FRAPPES!!!!!!!

Shoot I Missed My Dance Lesson!

Today is a Thursday, so I have to go to this dance lesson thing at Crystal Ballroom. Today is also the last class we will have because our teacher is going to go to Britain for a dance competition and he won't be back for at least another 3 weeks. Unfortunately today I forgot about the dance lesson, and I completely forgot to tell my auntie. She forgot too, and she didn't get home till the class had already started. It takes a long time to get to the dance place, and the lesson was only and hour so we ended up not going... This means that I would be seeing my teacher for about another mouth. I am sad I missed the last class he was here because I was planning on asking my classmates whether they wanted to go and practice on Thursdays even when our teacher was not there. Thank goodness I have their phones numbers or else I would never been able to reach them.

Hamber Fashion Show

This afternoon my Textiles class when to the Eric Hamber Fashion show. I had never been to a fashion show before, and it was really exciting!
The fashion show totally blew my mind away. I wish I could make clothe for myself like that, and I will work hard for it to come true. There were some really special designs from the show, and it was amazing!

City Of Lost Souls

  Thank you Cassandra Clare!
This book was everything I have ever hoped for and much more!!! It was epically awesome, but I have to say when I finished the book I had a bad feeling in the bottom of my stomach. I think that City of Heavenly Fire will not be all peaches and cream, it will probably be filled with darkness and other stuff I don't want to think about.
Here are some thoughts I had after reading the book:
-Sebastian is out of his mind and what he did was totally incest!
-Clary is so super awesome and bad-ass!!!
-Poor Amatis!
-Jace will probably never forgive himself...
-The Lightwoods have some serious emotional problems... Stupid Alec!
-Simon and Izzy are so cute together!
For me, the highlight of the book was when Clary tried to escape and totally kicked Sebastian's ass! I LOVE how strong CLARY has become! She has her super shadow hunter senses, and she is so good at fighting and taking care of herself now! Last year if you asked me who my favourite character was, I would totally say Jace. However, after really City of Lost Souls, Clary is officially my favourite character! I think she is so much stronger and has to bear the burden of so much more things then Jace. Even though Jace is all tough on the outside he is actually a very vulnerable person. I probably will never forgive him for what he did in City of Fallen Angels. I can't believe he pushed Clary away because he thought that he would hurt her more or something, look where that got him. It feels like Clary has always been the one chasing after Jace and trying to save him, while Jace is running away from his friend's help. Also Jace feels too guilty for things that were not his fault. Something Isabelle said about Jace really stuck with me, she said "Jace is in love with the idea of dying". Jace always wants to save everyone first. It is a good thing to believe in self sacrifice, but once your self sacrifice starts to become more of a problem for others then it isn't self sacrifice any more. What he was doing was more like a self destruction, which ultimately ended up badly. So yes, Clary is the best because she believes in self-sacrifice too, but she also would not let what had already happened haunt her and dictate her own actions.
Now back to Sebastian, I find the fact that he is obsessed with Clary very disturbing. Notice I didn't say "in love" with Clary, because we all know Sebastian is incapable of love. Sure he might seem like a real person, he might seem like he cares, he might seem that he can love, but he is really just emotionless. He does not love Clary, he does not care for Clary, he does not feel for Clary. He only wants her because she is his sister and he has a twisted sense of preserving bloodlines. I mean he said it himself, all he wants is for her to know that she is his. Like Clary will ever belong to anyone but herself. I am not even going to say the levels of wrong Sebastian has deluded himself into wanting, but bottom line is it will never work not in a million years. As I said to Lillian, Clary and Sebastian will never be together not for as long as I can see it or read it!
I am super mad at Alec. He is so insecure and has not a single idea what a relationship should be like. Not that I have any experience, but I know that he should not be trying to find out the pasts of his boyfriend from some vampire who happens to be a manipulative and evil. He should also not try to shorten the life of his boyfriend without his consent! What the HECK Alec? Have you ever thought about why Magnus doesn't want you to become immortal? It is all for your sake! Have you ever heard of "live life to the fullest"? Well dwelling on the past is not "living life to the fullest". Have you never heard of trust??? How can you trust Camille more than Magnus??? GOSH!!!
Okay, I can probably write about this book alllllll day long, but I am going to stop now, because if I really do start I will probably never stop...

OMG IT CAME OUT

By "it" I mean City of Lost Souls. IT CAME OUT TODAY!!! It just came out at 8:00 in the morning, and I can't wait to read it!
Lillian and me have been doing countdowns to the day it comes out, aka TODAY!
We are going to try to find it online, because we don't plan on getting it. The fastest way to read it is if we try to find it online, and we really really want to read it!
As soon as I got home I started to search for the book, but it has never been posted up yet, and I can't seem to fins it anywhere... SAD!
Hopefully we find it sometime soon!!!

Ooops! Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Beyond... MORE

Sorry, forgot to post the link of the longer and better version of my presentation. This one is the one that I made in the fist place. I made it as a Prezi, which in my understanding is that it doesn't need anyone to present it. I think that Prezis are more for passing on information through the viewer reading and watching the prezi, and not really talking about it. So if you watch in the original Prezi almost everything is written in full sentences and easily make sense when you read it in your head. There is also way more stuff than the shortened one. Personally I like the original one better, it feels more complete.

http://prezi.com/ovznqkavsm4j/present/?auth_key=ow0mmnn&follow=p9fvxaizrs7q

As for my last words today, I would like to say:
I LOVE PREZI, YOU ARE AWESOME!  XD

Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Beyond

Finally!!! I did my applied skills presentation today! I feel great because I am done now and I can enjoy other people's presentations in peace now!!!
I thought I did pretty good. I do wish I had spoken a little slower though, I probably talked way too fast. I was just so nervous. I really didn't want my presentation to go over time. I had to cut tons of information to make it that short. I guess I could have added a bit more stuff, but then again I think I said the whole presentation a little slower when I did it at home...
Other than that everything was great! I mean I memorized over half the stuff I was saying because I was working on my prezi over and over again. Once you read something and see it over and over and over again you tend to get the gist of exactly what it is. I am proud to say that I have a pretty good understanding on my topic Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Beyond after doing this presentation. It was really FUN!!!
Here is the link to the shortened version (the one I presented in class) of my presentation.

http://prezi.com/qjhn-c9urvlr/present/?auth_key=8n9ke7c&follow=p9fvxaizrs7q

If some stuff pops up about stuff not being able to be shown, just close it and ignore. My computer was extremely slow and uncooperative the whole time I was using Prezi so some problems came up when I was uploading pictures. It might be normal, not sure though. Well, enjoy!

Boring

Today I went shopping in the US with my auntie and her friends. It was mostly boring for me because a) I had nothing to buy b) they were all adults and we had not a lot of stuff in common >< c) I am about to have one of the busiest weeks of the month.
I didn't have much "fun" on my little road trip, but I am glad we were able to get back early. Then I have time to look over my applied skills presentation on Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Beyond. I am going to post the prezi here when I am done my presentation tomorrow. I must make sure that the whole thing is under 10 minutes, because it is always so close to 10 minutes it scares me...

Report Cards

Today is the long over-due report cards day. Some people may dread the day they see their official marks on paper, but I am absolutely not one of those people. To me getting report cards is like a overview of how I have been doing in school for each term. By knowing what I haven't been doing well enough, and knowing the classes that I am not doing as well as I planned, I can set goals to improve and do better. I like knowing how I am doing in school, it gives me a sense of direction. Because of the teacher's strike, we haven't been getting our report cards for both term 2 and term 3. Now the strike has sort of come to an end, we are finally getting our term 2 report card. The thing about not having report cards is you will only kind of know what you got in each subject, but you won't be sure. Getting the report card finalizes everything, and also puts all your marks in one place so you can compare them. In conclusion, I actually look forward to getting report cards not matter how I do, and I really hope we continue to get them.

May 4th, 2012

I must write a blog named after this glorious day simply because today is...
... MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU! aka. STAR WARS DAY!!!
I am ashamed to not have noticed the date earlier, but it was during French class Lillian told me the story behind May 4th 2012. Indeed, may the force be with you, and may Star Wars live on forever and ever more!!!

Black Heart

I have waited for this book for far too long!!!
After first seeing the Cursed Workers series in a book signing of both Cassandra Clare and Holly Black, I read the 2 books that had already came out White Cat, and Red Glove. After reading the 2 books I was a permanent fan of the series, and have been waiting for the third and last book of the series to come out. I am disappointed because Black Heart is the last book of the series, yet I feel like there are so much more things that could have been.
Black Heart was just as exciting as the 2 books before it, and I must say I really enjoyed the plot twists. I laughed so hard when Cassel made that crazy speech as the governor, and I was really scared when Lila was about to kill the governor who was really Cassel. I loved how in  the end Cassel chose Lila over everything else, and they finally cleared up all those lies and misunderstandings between each others. However, I did think the book, which is the last book of the series, ended a little too abruptly. I thought there were lost of more loose ends, such as where the real resurrection diamond was, if Diana really loved Barrons like Barrons loved her, and how Cassel is going to escape the government after what he did. The book did give us so slight hints and ideas of what happened, but I thought it was much to vague, and didn't really wrap everything up. I am going to cross my fingers, and hope that for some reason Holly Black decides to turn this trilogy into a non-trilogy and write a fourth book!

Fallen In Love

I am not a big fan of the Fallen series, but I decided if I was going to read the series I might as well read everything.
Fallen in Love is just like side stories to the main story line, it is the stories of the Valentine's day of all the couples in the series. I was mainly interested in Luce and Daniel, so I kinds just skimmed over the other ones.
I am very curious about the next book because, something about Luce choosing someone else other than Daniel was mentioned. That would be a big twist in the story line, and I can't wait to see who the other person could possibly be.

The Fault In Our Stars

Dear all readers, if you ever get your hands on this book, you MUST read it!
The Fault In Our Stars is a inspirational book that gives you insight on the lives and minds of kids who suffer from cancer.
When I first saw the book, I expected it to be about how cancer changed the life of the main protagonist Hazel. But instead, I found that it really jumped over that part and showed me the side of which not a lot of people think about. What happens after they survive? After surviving cancer once, you will always have a chance of relapse. The kids in the book are all living under the shadow of going through the whole process of battling cancer for their lives again. This time they might not win. I find Hazel to be a bright and brave character despite how she appeared to be. At first Hazel seemed very depressed and generally fell into the pessimistic side of things. But later as we explore her deepest thoughts and emotions, I am amazed at how strong she is. Being able to think of others when she is in need of help, wanting to limit the damage and scars she will leave behind after she dies. It's impossible just to think how hard it is, to push people away sometimes just because she doesn't want them to get hurt.
I also enjoyed all the philosophical arguments in the book. Both Hazel and Augustus have thought a lot about life and the meaning of life. They both are big readers and often refer to poems and other books. They are both people who love literature, and I enjoy reading about how they look at the world.

Three Kingdoms

Today this friends of my auntie's invited us over for dinner. We ate tacos, and burritos, salads, and lots of other delicious stuff.
There was 5 of us (ranging from age 12 to 24), Maggie(who is my cousin's friend), Grace(Maggie's cousin), Wendy(Grace's cousin), and the other Wendy(Maggies' friend). We all know each other cus our parents all know each other and so on.
We played this Chinese game called 三国杀. It is a really popular game in both China and here apparently. So basically it used the original idea of the famous Chinese book Three Kingdoms, and made it into on of those character games.
This is how you play it:
Each person gets a card that tells you who you are: you are either the king/ruler (you have special abilities, and have to be protected), the loyal general (you have to protect the king at all times), the rebel (you have to kill the king), or the spy (you want to kill everyone else first and then kill the king in a duel or something).
Then you choose the character you want to be from 3 cards that are randomly given to you. The king can choose whoever they like.
Then you get 4 starting cards. The King goes first, and the games goes counter-clockwise. Each player has to pick up 2 cards when it is their turn, and also has to dispose of the extra cards they have when they finish their turn. The number of card you have depend on how many drop of blood you have left. If you had 4 drops of blood, you can have 4 cards, if 1 drop of blood then only 1 card (unless you have a special character that allows you to do otherwise).
Every character is different, and there are many other cards for attack, defence, steal, challenge, escape, revive, and lots of other stuff.
Today was my first time playing the game, so I didn't play that well. It is SUCH a FUN game!!!
I want to play it next time I see them again! Sadly, it is a game that requires at least 4 people, and I usually can;t find that much people to play it with even if I wanted to.
Well, going to go to sleep now. It is already the next day.

Bloodlines

I regret not having read this book sooner.
I never knew Richelle Mead continued to write another series after she finished The Vampire Academy.
The Vampire Academy, despite its name, is not completely centralized on vampires. The reason why I enjoyed it so much, was because unlike some other vampire books, this book really created a whole society of vampires and made the vampires organized and together. They weren't just random vampires roaming the human society, or vampires that live in spooky houses in small towns. The vampires in the books were all part of something big, they were part of an society that has been there for a long time. I think that made it feel more real because every human in our society is part of something big too. Also I like how there are good vampires and bad vampires just like there are good people and bad people. But this was more extreme. There are the Strigoi and the Moroi. The Moroi are the good vampires and runs the whole vampire government, while the Strigoi are the evil undead vampire who are crazy for blood. Oh, and it is interesting because Moroi vampires are actually alive and they live a natural course of life, while the Strigoi are undead and live forever.
Now, onto Bloodlines. Just like The Vampire Academy which had a main protagonist that was not a vampire, but a half vamp half human girl named Rose, Bloodlines also has a main protagonist who was not a vampire. Bloodlines is written in the point of view of Sydney, who we have encountered many times in The Vampire Academy. I am grateful that the author decided to bring back and use the other characters of The Vampire Academy because we really do truly love those characters. It not only makes the story more exciting, it also gives us a better chance of really understanding and going deep into the story.

Badminton Pyramid

My first block was P.E. this morning, and we were still playing badminton (YAY). Instead of just playing 2 on 2 today,  we were doing something like a mini competition. Everyone was paired into teams of 2, and each received a number. We could play anyone we want (as long as we haven't played them already), and the winning team of each game will go record their victory on the table on the chalk board. We were playing games of 9 points (which is really little!), and only had a limited amount of time.
Like my whole week, today's P.E class went downhill pretty fast. My partner Tina and me only won the totally of 2 games. Which would be embarrassing, considering we played at least 5 different other team. But it wasn't embarrassing, because Tina wasn't feeling that well. I think that cooperation really matters when it comes to team work. Tina and me make a great team! But because one of us wasn't feeling well, we couldn't really show our true potential as a team.
I hope we are still doing the badminton pyramid competition thing again next week. If we are, I really hope our teacher has come up with a better table to record our scores, because the one we had today was extremely confusing!
In the end win or lose, rain or shine, I will always LOVE badminton!

Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Beyond

Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Beyond, is my topic for Applied Skills. We are learning about quantum mechanics, and each of us have to do a presentation on one of the topics. The process of assigning topics to everyone was very interesting. We had a substitute, and she came up with the idea of choosing topics by guessing numbers. Basically all we had to do was raise our hand when she read a topic that we wanted, and then pick a number. The person with the closest number to the one she had in mind would get the topic.
That was the day I realized that 7 was indeed not my lucky number at all. I think my lucky number is 8, but I don't really care any more, because numbers are only lucky when you think they are.
I tried many times for different topics, including black holes, dark energy, the sun and the stars, etc. But I never got my numbers right. In the end, when there was only 1 free choice left on the list of topics (the rest were left overs that no one wanted), I finally won my current topic with the nice number 82. I didn't know what made me guess 82 instead of something stupid like 77, I think the number just came to me...
Well, I am glad I got this topic, because researching about the planets is really interesting. I think the best part of my topic is that I have the "and beyond" part. At first, I didn't know what to possibly do for the "beyond". But now, I have so much to do, that I have to limit myself or else my presentation will be over the time limit of 10 minutes.
10 minutes is a really short time. I have so much to say!
I am having eons of fun making my presentation on Prezi. Prezi is simply awesome, mind-blowing, and completely outside of the box.
Now I am going to go back to my exciting tour of our solar system, I will post my Prezi on my blog once I finish presenting it!

Bleach

I am making a blouse in Textiles. I had bought this really pretty pink fabric with patterns on it. I though if I made the blouse with only pink, it might look a little too pink. In the end I decided to make the collar and the pockets of the blouse white, so it can be a contrast to all the pink and balance out all the colours.
I didn't want to waste money on buying a very small amount of white fabric, so I asked my auntie if she had any old while bed sheets or something. In the end, she pulled out this very nice table cloth that has many stains on it. I didn't really mind the stains because the cloth was very big, and there was plenty of fabric that were completely white. The table cloth also had flowered embroidered on, so I thought I could cut out the flowers for decorations or something.
When I cut the fabric for my collar, and facing, I didn't really pay attention to the stains on the fabric. My fabric ended up having multiple stains, and didn't look so nice. Yesterday I brought it home, and bleached it in hopes of getting the stains off. But unfortunately the stains must have been from a very very long time ago, so it didn't come off at all. However the fabric itself was brighter and whiter, which is of course very nice indeed.
I hope that when I finish the blouse there wouldn't be a permanent stain right on my collar or somewhere noticeable. As long as I can't see the satin clearly, I'm fine. But if it is somewhere everyone can see, I might have to re-cut the pieces and do it over again. I really hope that doesn't happen, because it not only wastes fabric, but it also wastes time!

Worst Morning I Have Ever Had

This morning I got up early to go to Choir practice, but I never got there on time.
When I got to my bus station, the bus must have came early because I saw it pass right by before my eyes. For some reason, that I cannot fathom, I decided to try to catch up with the bus. So I ran through this side road that took me to the road that the bus was going to be passing. Obviously when I got there, the bus was long gone.
I stood at the bus station for almost 10minutes, when another bus finally came. I would have gotten on, but the problem was I was on the other side of the road. It was raining in the morning, and I had gotten my shoes and socks wet. I must have been too distressed to notice the fact that I was standing on the wrong side of the road. I ended up missing that bus too. Now I was really frustrated, so I kept walking down the wrong side of the road. Suddenly another bus comes along right after the first one has left the corner, but I was still on the wrong side of the road, and no where near a bus stop. That was the third bus I missed in a row. I was desperate to get on the bus, I was already late, but I still hoped to get there as soon as possible. While sprinting down the side walk in hopes of catching the bus, I broke my umbrella permanently. But it was not over yet. I ran the whole way, but when I got to the bus stop where the bus would stop and wait for a few minutes for people because it was one of the hot spots, the bus was just pulling away. Even though it was the same bus, I consider that my fourth time missing the bus in a row. I must have set a record for missing the bus!
The rest of my day consisted of wet socks and shoes that made me terribly cold, and an English test that I was totally unprepared for. Today is one of those days where you feel like nothing goes right. However, instead of dreading the whole experience, I really do find it extremely amusing. I also think that it was a good lesson. I learned from today's experience to never chase after a bus unless you are truly desperate, and always take a good look at your surroundings, because you never know when you might just be standing the opposite of what you really want.

WOW!

I haven't been writing my blog regularly, but I will make up for the blogs that I missed.
Today I just typed in www.blogger.com, and I was already logged in to my blog on my computer. Suddenly this whole new format of the blog came out, and at first I thought something was wrong, because the page in front of me could not be my blog page. But then I look closely and read some of the things, I realized it was my blog. Except it was, in fact, now more like gmail and google stuff. It is all round buttons and they even have the same font.
It looks nice, but it took me by surprise.
To be honest, I really liked the old one better, because now that there is a new format to the blog, I would have to find out about all the new functions, and what is different and all that. I am not very good with that kind of stuff, and I am sure it would take me a while to figure everything out. However, I am too tired to bother exploring the new blogger, so I am simply going to go to bed.

I LOVE BADMINTON

I totally love badminton! It must be one of the best sports invented!
I had a lot of fun playing badminton in P.E class! I haven't played for almost a year, the only time I played during that time was for the badminton try out.
We have been playing badminton for more than a week, and I have had so much fun finally playing badminton. I have missed playing my favourite sport.
You might ask why I haven't played badminton for so long. Well, its because I have been moving a lot, and there isn't always someone to play it with. Badminton is only fun when you have at least 2 people playing. I mean, you can play it by yourself of course, but that would be quite dull and defeats the whole point of the game. Since my dad is really busy, and my mom is busy taking care of my brother too, no one else can play with me. Unfortunately, I am not the kind of person who wishes to play sports like badminton by myself, so I usually just set down my rackets and go read a book or something.
Now that I have time and people to play with, I am totally cherishing the time I have in class. I am also hoping to improve my badminton skills. After not playing for so long, I really have forgotten a lot of rules, and I am totally rusty. But after playing a few games, I feel confident that I can not only regain my badminton skills, and also learn a few more new ones in the process!

I'm Talking To My Parents Right Now

So I am on the phone with my parents right now, they are reading my blog in China.
I think they had to get some program or something to be able to see my blog, because some websites can't be accessed in China.
I hope my dad can leave comments, so then we can just talk on my blog or something.
Did I every mention that my blog is considered as my own personal journal! I think my parents can really get to know what I am doing these days by reading my blog.
To tell you the truth, I don't like writing blogs that much. I would much rather write with real pen and paper. But typing is much faster, and more efficient...
My brother really likes feeding the fish... LOL it would be really cool if the fish could reproduce and make more and more fishes after you feed them... Sadly, I guess that requires too much work.
So yeah, here is a message to my parents (hopefully they get it):
Dear mom and dad and Kankan.
You guys should really follow my blog, or at least come on often to check out what I have posted.
You will see that I have some real interesting stuff about everything here, and please leave comments!
  Love you guys!!!

The Vampire Diaries: The Hunters Moonsong

Don't even why I can still reading this series.
Like so many other series in this world, this series has been stretched way past its limit.
Sometimes when you read a series of books, you find the first book really refreshing and good. When you get to the second book, you may start to lose your interest a little. When you get to the third book, fourth book, or more, you tend to find that it just gets less and less precise and enthralling. Of course, this is not the case for all series. In my opinion, an example of a good series is Harry Potter. If you have read the Harry Potter series, you will notice that after you finish the whole series, different people tend to have a different favourite book out of the 7. Some people may enjoy the Prisoner of Azkaban then most (me), others like the last book or the first book. To me, a good series is a series of book in which you can pick up any one of them and have the equal amount of excitement and fun from anyone (even if you don't read it sequentially).
Now, back to the Vampire Diaries. I was a big fan when the series first was published. At the time vampires were "at large" and the vampire dairies captured them really well. Plus the increasingly popular traingle love story stuff, it was pretty good. However, it was not a very good series because every book just got worse and worse and worse.
It is pretty off track now, and there is totally no point of the whole story any more. Plus the Stefan, Elena, Damon thing is completely messed up right now...

This is like the nth book of the series, and I really think they should just end it soon! They have been dragging and dragging, and nothing better has come out of it.
I heard that the publishers got someone else to write the book, because the author was writing it too far away form the TV series. I thought the TV series is really good. It is super awesome and I watch it every week, but the book really stop!

Sun Run Results!!!

Today I checked my Sun Run results and this is it!!!

My time was 1:04:23.9.
It was the 15643 place out of 38935 people.

I thought I did pretty good cuz this year was my first Sun Run.
To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect for the 10km. I just don't know how long it would be!
If I did, I would have felt better and be better prepared. But never the less, YAY!~
Next year, I am going to reach my goal of completing the Sun Run under and hour. That is my goal, and next year, I will guarantee it to come true!!!

The Time Traveller's Wife

  This book is EPIC!!!
Even though it says it is a romance novel (which it is), I think it is much more. I mean the whole idea of time travelling has a lot to do with quantum physic and mechanics and all that. In the book it suggests that there was a parallel universe, and travelling through these different parallel dimensions allowed someone to time travel.
The book was really confusing at first because I really didn't understand how Henry was time travelling. Which is the "real Henry"? The one that lived in the "real" world. I didn't get how he time travelled and he was at different ages. I also didn't get how sometimes he would meet himself, and himself would not remember or even know that he time travelled. Of course this all became clear later on in the book, but it really gave me a good mystery.

The romantic side of this book is truly something that is unbelievable. Clare has known Henry since she was a little girl, and yet the Henry in the "real" world did not know her. It is a romance that truly crossed all time and space. I found it really interesting that Clare should fall in love with Henry when she was only so young, and every since she knew that she had to be with Henry and only Henry.
I have yet to finish the book, so I am sure I will have much more to talk about when I do really finish it!

The Haunted

Today I went to the library and picked up some book on hold for me.
I found this book called The Haunted. I often saw it at the library, but I never took it out.
I don't know what made me decide to take the book out, but I did. It could have something to do with Lillian always telling me to read this series, or more than one series, but I can never remember what it was called...
The Haunted is the second book of The Hollow series:

Since it was the second book, I didn't know what was really going on for quite a while. But I caught on. The story was totally not my kind, because I am over the girl-fall-in-love-with-something-supernatural-thing. The stories that were like that was usually pretty weird and strange for me. Maybe because I can never really understand how you can love someone that technically does not exist.
I know you can still love someone that is passed away, but falling in love with a ghost or spirit or something is harder to imagine. You can fall in love with an idea, maybe a story, or a way of thinking. People fall in love with things that do not exist all the time. But falling in love with people that does not exist is different. The definition of a person is different. How can you love a person if they are no more than something that you can only see but not touch. How can you make sure that you are not just hallucinating?
Well, I think you totally can. But I probably would never, because I just don't have that much imagination and supernatural connection to actually have the chance to experience such things.

Dim Sum 2

So after we ate Dim Sum, we decided to go to Metrotown. Vivian's mom needed to go there too so she gave us all a ride.
At metro I immediately suggested that we go to Chapters. But Vivian's cousin wanted to do some shopping for her as a early birthday present, so we went to places like American Eagle and stuff to buy clothes. Soon we ended up in the perfume body works place where they were giving out cards that gave you $5 for free! We decided that we had to use the free $5 on something, so we all started looking around for stuff that we could get. Yunyi got her friend a birthday gift with her free $5 and also a small bottle of perfume thingy. The rest of us all got the perfume thing, except for Lavina, who got this really-cute-late-one-in-the-whole-store-turtle-shaped-cosmetics-mirror. It was, as I mentioned, really cute. And it was FREE.
Now, I know something that I love MORE than free stuff, is FOOD!!!
  Y U M ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Vivian and her cousin went to H&M, and so Yunyi, Lavina, Emma, and me went to Purdys to get some well deserved ice-cream.
One of the reasons I got ice-cream was because I had one of those cards that told you that if you got 10 ice-cream you can get one for free! (See the free stuff again?)
After the delicious ice-cream we went to find Vivian and her cousin at H&M, or was it Forever 21? Well, one of those.
Then we went to Garage and a bunch of other places. But I was getting pretty tired, so some parts of the day remains a blurr. All I know is, we went to find Vivian's mom and her brother at this cosmetics shop. I have never been there so I don't remember what it was called. We walked around, and then Vivian and her family had to leave. Yunyi, Emma, and me went to this place called something like Ardenes which was across the cosmetics shop. Then we finally went to Chapters!!!
It was a really long day, but I had tons of fun!!!

Dim Sum 1

I think it was last Friday. I think.
I think it was Vivian and Yunyi who arranged this get together to eat Dim Sum in the morning. We ended up going to this Dim Sum restaurant that was owned by Vivian's uncle.
I had this awesome time getting to the Dim Sum place. Basically I took 49 to Victoria, and then took 20 towards Downtown all the way to Pender (it was a long time for me because I had never taken 20th bus before, and I have never really gone to that part of downtown by myself before either. Basically I was not a downtown person. Maybe more like the edge of the city kind or something...) So I got off at Pender, and then walked for around 6 minutes (that was what google maps told me) towards the right on East Hastings.
The Dim Sum place was called Pelican Seafood restaurant. I didn't know what I was expecting, but I was somewhere along the lines of either a big bird on the front board, or fishes and shrimps for seafood. But the restaurant sign was just red with white words on it. I thought it looked really nice and simple, but the "pelican" on the side was a little hard to spot if you weren't looking for it.
I thought I was going to be late, but I ended up getting there first. Vivian arrived a few seconds later, and the rest was history.
We got a seat, and me and Viv went out to wait for the others. Originally 9 people were coming, but April had piano lessons so now there were only 8. We waited and Yunyi soon arrived. Then we started to worry because the rest of the people were either super late or cannot come. We phoned Kaixin, and she was really sick was a cold so she couldn't come either. Emma was coming, but she mistrusted the bus driver who brought her to Burnaby... In the end it was only Vivian, Yunyi, Emma and me that went. Jennica and Tina also had to cancel because of piano lessons...
The Dim Sum was really good. I was never one who loved Dim Sum, because I was more from mainland China and we rarely ate Dim Sum there. Even though we had to wait a long long long while before we finally got to sit down and eat, it was totally worth it. However I do feel bad because in the end Vivian's parents paid for us. Vivian's birthday is on the 15th (this Sunday), hint hint.

Where To Start?

I was so busy these days, I haven't written my blog for 6 whole days. So now I will do this epic recap of everything that happened during this week (and the weekend).
So, it was Easter long weekend last weekend. I was going to go to Fabricanna to buy fabric for textiles, but I didn't have time in the end, and the store closed before I was even able to get there. I kind of regret that because they were having this awesome Easter sale that had everything on 50% off, and patterns were really inexpensive like 3 dollars each. Now I will probably be going tomorrow, which is a Friday.
Read next blog for my exciting long weekend!!!

Miss Peregrines's Home For Peculiar Children

THE COVER OF THIS BOOK IS REALLY FREAKING ME OUT!!!
Yesterday I was just going to bed, and I saw the cover of this book on my desk. It freaked me out so much, I had to turn it upside down (which was a bad idea because there were other freaky pictures in the back) and put another two books on top and below it...

I thought this book was going to be about the real world. Like supernatural sightings, or other mysterious stuff that happened before. I thought it was going to be about haunted children, evil houses, and mutated experiments... But it was actually much less scarier then what I thought it would be.
Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children (another super long name that I will NOT be typing again) is a totally fantasy. Completely fantasy based. It was about stuff that is not real (as far as I know), so that made it's scary level come down a lot. If the stuff they were talking about were real, and the pictures were real, then I would be freaked out. But they were not real, they were only these the weave a more interesting fantasy story, so it wasn't scary any more. (Ex: Voldemort is completely evil, but he is not real, so he is not that scary. On the other hand, is he were a real person, then people would be really scared of him.)
The story of the book was okay... The pictures were really the most eye catching part of the book. All those vintage black and white pictures of strange things that never were and will be can give you the bageebees (translation: goose bumps).
Here are some pics, see them if you dare. Good night, and sweet dreams (if you can ><)

I put on more pictures, but they were freaking me out. Again. I think I am really easialiy freaked out by these stuff... So I am going to leave these pictures. FREAKY. FREAKY. FREAKY. FREAKY. FREAKING ME OUT...

Wolves Of The Beyond: Frost Wolf

Faolan has always been an outsider. Exiled as a pup, then shunned by his fellow wolves for his unusual connection to the bears, Faolan has struggled to earn a place in the pack. But a terrible danger is looming on the horizon, and Faolan is the only one who knows how to fight it. Will he be able to claim his rightful place as leader? Unless Faolan can inspire the pack to stand together, it could be the end of the wolves of the beyond.
(Wolves of the beyond 4th book)

I read this one pretty quickly too... There are more owl stuff in this. I really think that owls are really smart!!! The helmet the Prophet wore was totally owl hero artefact. I don't get how all the wolves are addicted to the spirit dance and stuff. They were all like hypnotized, and they were just worshipping death. I don't understand, it is like a cult or something, and everyone was addicted.

Wolves Of The Beyond: Watch Wolf

I kinda skipped through the book... I think that Guardians of Ga'Hoole is better.

A wolf's eye view of the legends of Ga'Hoole in this stirring third installment of the Wolves of Beyond series by bestselling author Kathryn Lasky.

Born with a twisted paw, Faolan was abandoned as a wolf pup and left to die. But not only did he survive and make it back to the wolf clan, he proved himself to be one of the most worthy wolves of all.

But just as Faolan is about to take his place as one of the revered Wolves of the Watch, a fellow watch wolf goes missing. Faolan is sent to track her down and makes a horrifying discovery - she has been kidnapped by bears. A war is coming between the wolves and the bears, and only Faolan can stop it.
(Third book of the Wolves Of The Beyond series)

I still feel like there are too little owls involved in the story. It is supposed to be "return to the world of Guardians of Ga'Hoole. I LOVE owls. Owls are awesome!!! MORE OWLS!!!

Shoot!

I haven't been writing my blogs lately. I just realized I haven't written my blogs in 5 days. OMG, how terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today is April 4th 2012. I think I am going crazy, because I can't seem to stop typing. I just sent a at least 200 hundred word email to my mom....
I thought the email page would not let me write so much, but it turns out that emails can really carry a lot of information and words after all.
Even though I am typing a lot and very fast, if I do say so myself, I still have quite a few typos. I wonder how I will do on the typing test now. I can type blind, but I am much slower, and not very used to it....
Okay, to hyper, feel like if I keep doing this I am going to explode like a bomb or something. Scary when you are doing something and you can't seem tot stop yourself. I bet my auntie is wondering why I am attacking my keyboards at such a high speed, and wondering if I was okay, because I think I have been at this for at least half an hour. Now that is scary...
  More intense typing, see ya!!!!!!!!!1

Orienteering

We are still doing orienteering in P.E. We have to do 8 courses of orienteering. I think we are on our 6th one now. Next week will finally be the last week of O.T!
When we first started O.T, I really liked it. I like navigating and reading maps and all that. But later on it just became more and more of a bore. I mean, I can read maps, and I can read a compass. Everyone else in our class can read a map and a compass. Even though we start at different times, we end up together. So during the last few classes, it really wasn't about getting your way right, it was about getting there before the others did. When we did our first courses of O.T, Tina and me could rarely see any others. But now, we always do. Because we all want to get back first, we all run. We jog the whole thing, we read our directions while we run ahead. And sometimes, because these are others with us, there is mass confusion. When one person gets the why wrong, or misunderstands the questions, everyone else is affected. Even though we do not share answers, we still debate on what is right and what is wrong. So what happens in the end is everyone wastes their time, and gets confused.

The Curious Case Of The Dog In The Night-time

The Curious Case Of The Dog In The Night-time (such a long name right?) is the book we are reading in English. When I first saw the book it was very mysterious and interesting. The book cover is a orange page with a black hole that is the shape of a dog. The dog is up side down. This means that the dog is dead. Hence the name of the book XD.
I first noticed the strange narration of the narrator. The narrator felt really emotionless. I didn't know why, but I had some guesses. These guesses included the boy had some conditions, or he was mentally ill or something. Later on we were told that Christopher (the boy/narrator), had autism.
I really didn't know what autism was. It just never came up. Autism really is a very interesting subject though. The autistic spectrum is very vast, and I think that it is very hard to pin-point autism and give it a definite definition.
Speaking of definition, I haven't been putting the words from the dictionary on my blog these days. Mostly because I haven't been writing them these days. But I am still reading my dictionary, do not worry!

Typing Blind

I am typing really blindly these days. I turned off all the lights in my room, and started typing like crazy... It really gets easier after you are familiar with the key board. Now I can type without looking, or almost. Sometimes I still get some letters wrong, but generally I can type without looking at the key board. I think it is a really good and important skill to have, because when you can type blind you wont be limited by the keyboard it self. And you can also achieve great speed and accuracy when you type blind. I could not type blind before, because when I was in china, I seldom used the computer. So now that I almost cant live without it, I try to improve my typing skills. Now, it is finally awesome! But I still do bad on typing tests though, because I am not that good. I still can't type random words that I don't know in my head...

Wolves Of The Beyond: Shadow Wolf

I went to the library yesterday to pick up my 4 books that I had on hold. I also bought myself some cookies and bread XD.
I have 3 other books from the Wolves Of The Beyond series.
The author kept using the word "marrow" in the book. And I don't know why, but the book just feels really short, and I was able to read through it very quickly. I don't think the story was as good as the Guardians of Ga'hoole. So far in the story there hasn't been enough suspense, and there was no greater issue involved, yet.
I am going to keep reading, and see if some super awesome quest comes up... I like quests, they are something that gives a character the chance to experience life and show their every angle. Even tough the main character is a wolf it is no different. But I must praise the author for capturing the life of a wolf pack so well, like the owls from the Ga'hoole, she was able to make all the animals so real and human-like(without making it seem weird). It is as if the wolves really are like that in real life.

Word Of The Day:

ab·er·rant/ˈabərənt/

Adjective:
  1. Departing from an accepted standard.
  2. Diverging from the normal type.

a·bet/əˈbet/

Verb:
  1. Encourage or assist (someone) to do something wrong, in particular, to commit a crime or other offense.
  2. Encourage or assist someone to commit (a crime).
Synonyms:
instigate - incite - encourage - foment - provoke

I've decided to do 2 words a day from now. One word is just too slow...
Ex. He was displaying some aberrant behaviour after the death of his sister, Mary.
I never meant to abet her with the crime, I have never wanted to be part of this.

Door to Door Singing!

On Wednesday the Synergy 9s went door to door singing during Applied Skills (first period). It was pretty successful and we got quite a few dollars of donation. We sang Here Comes The Sun, but I really like My Girl better. My voice range is pretty low, so I am a alto. For Here Comes The Sun, all the girls have to sing melody, and it is way high for me. I can sing it, but I don't feel comfortable, it is truly a little out of my range. But My Girl on the other hand is lower and it has more of a rhythm and feel to it that I can connect to. Here Comes The Sun repeats a little too much, and is a little boring. But My Girl has new lines, and a great ending.
I realized that I forgot the Word of the Day for these past days, so here they are:

ab·bess/ˈabis/

Noun:
A woman who is the head of an abbey of nuns.

ab·bot/ˈabət/

Noun:
A man who is the head of an abbey of monks.
Synonyms:
prior

a·bed/əˈbed/

Adverb:
In bed.
