Life in a Day

First of all I have to say: I always don't get the emails! I didn't know that you have to watch this video until Thursday this week. I asked Vivian for the link, and she said they got the email around winter break. I totally didn't get it, and I also didn't get the buskerfest job thing. I got the spread sheet, just not the one that asks you which job yo want to do.

LIFE IN A DAY
When the documentary first started, I saw that it said the whole movie was filmed in the same day--July.24.2010. At first I didn't get it, but when the movie started, I couldn't believe it! And it also mentioned "with the help of Youtube", so I am guessing that some clips came from Youtube? Or maybe Youtube helped pass on the message of filming stuff on that day. The video made no sense at the beginning, but it started to get more and more interesting.
The scene I remembered the most is a cow getting slaughtered. The clip jumped out of nowhere, I mean suddenly this guy in white cloak was explaining how it was like a gun? There was this cute cow in a metal box like thing, and suddenly there was a thing like a glue gun. Before I could even register what was happening there was already two red holes on the cow's head. And at first I thought it was still alive because it was still moving, I thought they were doing some experiment or something. But as it slowly sank to the ground, it got dragged out. The next thing made my dinner unappealing, the cow's head was cut open and it was red inside and red everywhere. I didn't want to look, but I couldn't look away---these things are happening everyday. Every piece of meat you eat, it all cost a life. If you didn't know about it, you won't think about it. But once you know, you can never really forget...
The Korean guy who spent more than 9 years travelling the world on his bike gave me a strong impression too. There are people out there, everywhere, travelling the world by themselves, finding answers. I can tell he really loves his country, I mean being away from home is really hard sometimes, and there are so many people who cannot be with their family. Even though I am Canadian and have a Canadian passport and all that, but somehow inside my heart I will always be a Chinese. I mean I think it runs in my blood, and my dad always reminds me...
There was this Love Parade or something. All these people were stuck because of a tunnel...? I don't get what was wrong with the tunnel, but it was pretty scary. All those people stuck in there with no exit. There was so much fear and panic, and it made accidents inevitable. People hate being helpless, but they never really understand what really goes on to the others there who experience it. I wonder how it must have been for those people stuck there...
And the lanterns in the end... It made me want to cry, I don't know why, but flying lanterns just gets to me. I would love to see something lie that, it would be such an experience. I still can't believe all those things happened in one day. Now that I really think about it, it really is happening every single day. All the people of the world have 1 life in which they live in, and the world consists of all these lives of all these people... So much more is happening, and we will probably never really explore every single corner of the world.
There were a bunch of other stuff that gave me a strong impression, but I just can't seem to remember them at the moment. I had dinner (which I had no appetite), and then played piano... My memory is really no good these days, and I just can't remember the details and other stuff even though I only watched it a few hours ago.
