If you haven't noticed, today is Valentines Day. Today is THE best Valentines day not because I found true love or anything, but because I found a long time no see friend.
So the whole day was pretty normal, except for all the hearts and stuff (talk about that later). So Yunni (I think that is how you spell it), just got on the 49th bus. And we were walking towards the back cuz it is one of those long buses. And I hear me name. "Celinna? Celinna", and I look forward and see this girl sitting in one of the seats in the connector part of the bus. And she was like "Celinna, is that you?" And I was like "Yeah...", I was pretty sure I didn't know her. But random people don't just know my name, even some people in my school that I see everyday don't know me name! So the girl said something like "OMG! I'm Melissa!" And then something clicked, and I realized I DO KNOW HER. Melissa is a friend I met in grade 3. She is one year older than me, and we were totally BFFs. And then she moved and changed a school. Even under that condition, we still stayed in contact, I even went to her Birthday party. But then I went back to China, and we sorta just lost each other. So you can imagine how surprised I was upon seeing her on the bus.
Of all the things that I expected, or imagined that could happen, this is not one of them.
I moved so much that I barely remember every single person, but Melissa... So awesome. I mean after all these years, I think the fact that she could recognize me is a miracle. I asked her how she new it was me, and she was like "you haven't changed much”. Honestly to me, I think I have changed a lot, but perhaps I haven't... Except for maybe grow much talker, I was a real shortie when I was small.
So this is my Best Valentine Ever, because finding a long-ago friend, is way better than getting chocolates and having guys-ask-you-questions-so-they-can-take-your-paper-heart.
