I just realized I have no idea what the proper name for what we are making in Textiles is. Is it a hoodie? Or is it a sweatshirt? But doesn't matter, I am almost done!
This week I brought it back home, because I had done some extra designs on my hoodie, but because I was using a friend's sewing machine, and she needed to use it. I rushed, and some stitches went off. So I brought it home to hand sew the holes together. Nothing serious, but I wanted it to be perfect.
I have everything done except for the zipper, Ms. Nicholson says we will be done in a week or two. My hoodie turned out really nice. I had a hard time when buying the fabric. I really wanted 2 colours that had a big contrast, but I was said to be impossible because the lady kept telling us that the fabric will bleed into one another. So I can't have red and white because the red will turn the white into pink...
So I ended up with purple, and white. I also have black ribbing, so there are quite a few colours on my sweatshirt.
I added lots of stripes on it, and it looks totally awesome. I was going to cut out my name on some fabric and sew it on the back, but I realized I didn't want other people to know my name by just looking at what I was wearing. That would be really weird. So I was thinking of adding this # thing and putting a leaf in the middle.
I was thinking of saving up money for a sewing machine. That would be so cool. But then again, I probably wouldn't be able to make anything real big, because I still need help with instructions and what to do next when I am making something... Sadly no on win my family but my grandmother actually made clothes on the sewing machine, although I am sure my aunties know how to use the machine, just not how to make something with it.
