Napoleon

I find that Napoleon is a very interesting person. He, like Hitler, and many others, is a genius. A great man no doubt. But with great power comes great responsibility. I think one of the biggest mistakes Napoleon made was Nepotism. The whole giving power, in his case not only power but a whole kingdom or realm, to his own family members is totally not fair. I think Napoleon only did this because he thinks that he can control his own family better, that his own family members will bow down to him when he wants them to. But the truth is, I think family not only will not bow down to him at certain times, but will be harder than normal to control or dictate. If he gave the position of king or ruler of a place to any one else, a close general or advisor, I am sure they may be more gratified towards Napoleon. On the other hand, family members tend to think that perhaps Napoleon owed it to them, simply because they were family. Also they expect Napoleon to be less demanding and hard on them also because of the simple fact that they are family. Well, that is completely not true. So it resulted in failure for most of his family members and their kingdoms or realms...
I think Napoleon loved his family too much. He should have assessed whether his family members were up for the job, instead of just giving them so much power all of a sudden...
