I am reading this book for English and it is sort of boring me.
It is called "The Beet Queen", and the only part where it really got my interest so far was the beginning of the book. It just kinda got more and more confusing and indifferent.
I was really angry at the mother in the book because she left her own children to fend for themselves. It was completely selfish and morally wrong. I marvel at how different each of her children's points of views are. Her son still thinks she is a queen and demands her love no matter what. On the other hand, her daughter hates her and wishes to have nothing to do with her (she would rather let her mother believe she was dead). Her youngest child, whom she "abandoned" soon after he was born, has no idea who is really is and is living a normal life.
Out of the three kids I think the little boy got the best life, what you don't know can't hurt you. The girl is very lucky because she was able to find a new life with her auntie, and her strong skills of survival has helped her a lot.
It is funny how a family of 4 soon separate into nothing at all. The mother leaves her children, the children could not provide for the baby so he was taken away by strangers. The son leaves his sister at their auntie's. I feel like there is something really wrong here, a family should stick together yet they choose to leave, to abandon. And in the end, in the end they always find each other again. The world is a small place, whether they wish it or not, they find each other again.
