As I walk down the cold dark street, my ear are pricked up and my eyes are on high alert. I turn around to check if I have a stalker, yes, I do that. But there are none of course...
Yesterday I was walking down the street and it was already dark. The street lamps were on and it cast a faint glow onto the side walk. I was walking when I turned around again to check behind me when it caught my eye. A black shadow was advancing on me, there were 2 shadows besides me. The one at the back was darker and gaining fast, at first I thought there was someone behind me. But when I turned around to check there was nothing. Worried at what had just happened I studied my own shadow closely. After walking a few paces there were two shadows again and I can see that they are both me. The darker one would overtake the first one which grow faint and disappears. The process is repeated many times. It was really cool to see, but every time I the second shadow appear out of no where suddenly, it still surprises me.
When you walk under a street light, the light shines directly on you and casts a shadow. You walk forward and come to a place where another street lamp's light can also hit you (that is if the two street lamps are close enough). When you are at a place where both street lamps lights are shining on you, then you have two shadow. As you walk further away from the first street lamp the first shadow dims and disappears while the second shadow grows stronger.
The whole process was fascinating to watch, I observed this on Willingdon or was it Central Blv(somewhere beside Crystal Mall)? I can't remember, but shadows are always interesting and mysterious.
