Forest Adventure

Today I got bitten by a dog for the first time.
So this afternoon my cousin took me and another friend of hers to help her classmates at school do a project. We went all the way to North Vancouver and helped pick up garbage at this park. I think it was called Greenwood park. It is really beautiful, with all the autumn leaves, and towering trees it was a fairy tale forest. The sad thing though is that under this little cliff place, there were a lot of garbage everywhere, the guy who took us there said that people came there for bonfires. We even found a whole pile of broken down furniture there. There was even scrapes of a TV and also a computer. I can't even imagine how a guy got his TV down there, it seemed like someone was living there, and then just decided to trash everything. Other than the furniture, there was also plastic bags, beer cans, and lots of broken glass bottles. There were a lot of glass all over the place, but I swear I didn't see even one bottle that was whole. They were either smashed into pieces, or smashed into smaller pieces.
What made it worse, was the fact that it just rained yesterday, so there were big puddles of water everywhere. It was sad to see such a beautiful forest like that. Even though you can't see the place when you are walking in the woods unless you walk through some trees to the very edge, but still, it was hard to think of such a wonderful place being polluted and dirty.
Now the guy who led us to the place had a dog, she was really cute and I was scratching and playing with her. But later when we were walking back to our car, we kinda got lost in the forest. So we took pictures of all the exotic stuff in the forest, I think there was a scene that reminded me of Bridge to Terabithia. If you look closely at almost all of the tree stumps, there is always some mushrooms on it. The funny thing was each mushroom looked different on different logs or stumps (I bet Mimi would love it there). I think we saw at lest 10 types of mushrooms there.
After trudging in the forest for a while, I started to realize how little trees there were. Even though the tress were all big and tall, but I felt like there were just some parts of the forest missing. You would look at a little dirt hill and go 'I think there should be a tree there, but there is nothing.' Imagining these splendid trees getting cut down is just horrible.
Now maybe you would ask me "Where does the dog who bit you fit into this?"
Well, when we were first leaving the dirty place, we met a guy who was walking his two dogs. They looked nice enough, so I just held out my hand and tried to pat one of them. But I guess it was because I already had a different dog's smell on my hand, so the dog bit me. I have never actually been bitten by a dog before. It was  quite interesting. You would think that the teeth of a dog would be sharp and pointy, but being bitten by one tells you that it is very round at the end. Kinda like our teeth, they don't look very sharp, but I guess if the dog really wanted to hurt me badly it could still do it. Good that the dog didn't break the skin. We met another guy who was out with his dog later on, I was careful to get out of its way.
Being bitten by a dog once a day was definitely enough for me.
My forest adventure was truly magical. I hope I can go there again some time soon, I really wish to capture more of the natural beauties it holds there. I would have and could have---if only my camera had not chosen today to run out of batteries. It is partly my fault. Okay, fine. It was mostly my fault.
  Grrrrrr.....
