When I first had Textiles class at the beginning of the year, I always had problems using my sewing machine. It was either my thread got tangled up on the bobbin, or sewing knots onto the fabric. For my first project, which was a binder cover, I didn't do very well. My stitches were not in a straight line, and for some lines the stitching would stop half way and then pick up again. But just around last week, I started to get the hang of it. I couldn't really tell if there was a difference between the way I sewed, but the effect was there. I could sew straight, I don't have loose ends all the time any more, and my thread doesn't get knots any more either. I decided that I have finally gotten used to the sewing machine, and has learn the best way to use it.
On the 3 day weekend, I went to buy fabric and what not for my pyjamas. The fabric store was really cool, and had so much stuff that I would have never known you could buy so easily.
We are starting with the pyjama pants and I can't wait. Honestly I don't want to wear them or anything, I just want to finally make my own clothe. When I was small I made clothe such as T-shirts, and vests for my stuffy. Now I can my my own clothe, that I can wear. Sewing is awesome, and making your own stuff is even more awesome. Every time you accomplish something for the first time, the reward is incredible, I am sure I will be wearing my self manufactured pyjamas by Christmas!
